Yellowstone National Park is our country's oldest national park and one of the most popular. It has so much to offer, but do you know the best time to visit? Out of all the seasons, fall is the best time to make a trip to Yellowstone! Yellowstone is visited by an average of 4.1 million people every year with over half of those visiting between June and August. Once school starts and the summer vacation window is over, the number of visitors drastically decreases which means a much different

I recently attended a conference in Philadelphia where they had the welcome reception at the Reading Terminal Market. The Market was established in 1893 and has an incredible story of survival over the years through changes and expansion as the city of Philadelphia grew up around it. Inside, over 80 merchants offer everything from fresh baked doughnuts and cookies to authentic gyros or tabbouleh to four varieties of Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches, of course! For the welcome reception, conference attendees got to peruse the wonderous aisles and sample the signature

I am not going to lie; I am nervous.  Earlier this year, my husband had this grand idea of floating the Smith River. This requires entering for a special permit and hoping you get drawn.  My husband arranged a huge group of people to put in for the Smith River permit and guess what, someone pulled it! We leave soon and it turns out I don’t know a soul going on this trip except my husband and our two kids…..and yes, we are the only ones going with kids.

Not only does this time of year bring the inevitable thoughts of personal resolutions (ahem, go to the gym), but it is also a perfect time for an MNW Destinations Year in Review.  MNW Designations (a sister company to Meetings Northwest, Inc.) launched at the end of January 2018 as a solution to groups coming to Montana and needing on-site help from Montana experts.  We focused our efforts on the regions we know best: Bozeman/Yellowstone, Missoula, and Flathead Valley/Glacier.  Destination Management is not a new concept in the travel

It wouldn’t take long for any of our clients to tell you that we are very proud of our roots in Montana. Five of the seven MNW Destinations staff were born and raised in Montana and the other two have lived here for more than a decade. Montana is home. The benefits of sourcing locally

One of my favorite things is to find the best local items and share them with others. Finding a really great restaurant to take guests to, an amazing artist that showcases the local culture, or unique gifts that you won’t find anywhere else is an exciting challenge. In May, we facilitated a conference in Bozeman and we needed thank you gifts for the sponsors and speakers. I used to live in Bozeman and was excited to see what was still around that would work for these gifts.

We think so. Brian Scudamore, Founder and CEO of O2E Brands which is ranked as one of the country’s best places to work, said of team building in this article for Forbes, “It builds trust, mitigates conflict, encourages communication, and increases collaboration. Effective team building means more engaged employees, which is good for company culture and boosting the bottom line.”  For these exact reasons, it is important to include team building on the agenda when planning a conference, board meeting, or retreat. Groups coming to Montana have an exciting opportunity to

I recently attended the Montana Governor’s Conference on Tourism and Recreation. It is an annual gathering for people in the industry to come together to learn new practices, network with new partners, and find more inspiration to share Montana’s spectacular beauty and authentic experiences. Marc Berejka, Director of Government and Community Affairs at REI, was one of the keynote speakers. He spoke about how an outdoor life is a life well lived and why they created their campaign to awaken a life-long love of the outdoors. Research has shown
