I am always in search of good old fashioned Christmas cheer. Growing up in a small mountain Oregon town, I have always loved community traditions: bumping into each other while drinking something warm around a fire barrel on the corner of main street, comparing Christmas gifts with friends, sampling chocolate truffles and sniffing candles in a cozy storefront all with the backdrop of nostalgic Christmas décor and the lull of carols in the background.  Ever since moving to Missoula, Montana, my heart has been in search of the next

I recently attended a conference in Philadelphia where they had the welcome reception at the Reading Terminal Market. The Market was established in 1893 and has an incredible story of survival over the years through changes and expansion as the city of Philadelphia grew up around it. Inside, over 80 merchants offer everything from fresh baked doughnuts and cookies to authentic gyros or tabbouleh to four varieties of Philadelphia cheesesteak sandwiches, of course! For the welcome reception, conference attendees got to peruse the wonderous aisles and sample the signature

I call myself a native even though I wasn’t born in Missoula.  I moved there when I was 6 days old.  I think that still counts as native.  I have left a few times; once for college, once to travel, once to try the big city.  But I always found my way back (until a couple years ago when I permanently traded Missoula for the Flathead – just a couple hours north). If you were to ask me, Missoula has always been great.  Surrounded by mountains with a couple

Come see us Western Montana Fair! August 7th-12th at the Western Montana Fair Grounds….gate admission is FREE!
