Downtown Missoula half-day tour

A group of chefs staying at The Resort at Paws Up asked us, “What should we see and do with a half day in Missoula?”  Although we wished they had longer, we were so glad they asked.  We like to think of Missoula as part mountain town, part river town, part college town and a dream town for outdoor enthusiasts.  Our wonderful locals in downtown Missoula stepped up and helped MNW Destinations show off authentic Missoula.  The group started the morning with a bus ride through the beautiful, Potomac Valley in route to Caras Park – the heart of downtown.  Drew from the Montana Natural History Center gave a talk on the flora and fauna and natural surroundings that make Missoula so unique.  After arriving downtown, the group was treated to a carousel ride – built entirely by volunteers, a kayaking demonstration on Brennan’s Wave – it’s where Missoulians surf on their lunch hour and a visit to The Wilma – one of Missoula’s fantastic concert venues.  No trip to downtown Missoula is complete without some time to shop, eat and drink.  Many thanks to Montgomery Distillery, Tamarack Brewing and Mary’s Mountain Cookies for providing our guests with locally crafted cocktails, beers, lunch and dessert.
